This is a feature in this months issue of “Orange Appeal” Magazine. Jay Larose is a client of mine who found me via this website. Jay is an actor who was interested in a makeover that would allow him to branch out and expand his options for more diverse rolls. After a thorough consultation we decided on a conservative color and a fashionable style that would complement and also reinvent his look. A big thanks goes out to Stella Luca Salon for the opportunity to do this makeover and also I’d like to thank Orange Appeal Magazine for the Sweet Makeover Feature.

In these times of penny pinching and filling up on cheap grains to sustain the robustness of our over extended waistbands I find myself feeling very fortunate that I’m head over heels in love with my profession. Hairstyling, IMHO, has got to be the most satisfying, fulfilling career on the face of this here rotating rock of human existence. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t leave the salon feeling like Lee Majors, (not the womanizing part, the 6 million dollar man part). There is nothing quite like turning someone’s world around by doing something that you truly love from the deepest part of your heart. Its like everyday the theme song from “The Love Boat” is playing as I am driving to work. I was once told, “If you do what you love you will never work another day in your life”. I haven’t worked a single day since I was 26.

There is a little saying that has come to form the way I approach every single client that finds their way into my chair, “You are only as good as your last haircut”. Can you imagine if everyone you came into contact with held themselves to the exact same standard? I can, its called the 1950’s. I really believe the service and quality that once existed in this country can once again be achieved if someone just made that whole concept trendy. Ha! Imagine that, the quality service fad. Well I think I am just going to go ahead and spearhead that movement. Feel free to join me and make this whole thing a true cult uprising.
